Bear killed on I-80

Friday evening I saw a roadkilled bear on I-80 just after crossing the bridge over the Allegheny river (west bound) and before the Emlenton exit. It was laying on the media side of the road just at the edge of the pavement.

Looked hugh but with the traffic it was hard to tell the size. Darned shame.

Wasn't that many years ago a bear sighting was big news now they are a common sight around here.

For those who fought for it, Life has a flavor the protected will never know.

Re: Bear killed on I-80

I thought about going back around so I could really get a good lok at it but with traffic and not a good place to get off the road it wasn't worth it.

It had a big head with a lot of space between the ears.

Re: Bear killed on I-80

I saw where someone hit an elk near brookville back in my winter scouting. Imagine that stepping out and youre doing about 70

What I say might not be the popular trend but at least Im not afraid to speak my mind!

Re: Bear killed on I-80

That's always a shame. Last weekend (June 15) I saw one dead on I-80 somewhere near Bloomsburg. Also, in summer 2009 I saw another roadkill bear on I-80 also near Bloomsburg.

Re: Bear killed on I-80

Life's too short to hunt with an ugly dog.
