Big Bear Down on Rt 414

My good friend just came up Rt 414 near the village of Morris,Tioga County and saw a very large roadkilled bear. He estimated about high 400 to over 500 lbs. It was hit by a pipeliner welding truck that was very smashed up. He stopped and could not believe the enormous head this thing had.A crowd of motorists were forming and he soon moved on for safety reasons...When he arrived he stated ...Well how many fawns will saved by that welding truck?...I did not have an answer, but I knew where to post it to find out!

bear do pray on fawns every now and then, just depends on if the bear was a fawn eater or not, some eat fawns some dont. if their is another food source readly avalible I doubt a bear would eat fawns, but then again why would a large bear pass on such an easy meal.

I have a pic of it that I'll post asap. I saw it while on my way home yesterday. My guess is @350lbs.

We went by 8:30 am Sunday and just the bear was there. What a shame. Actually it was on 287 north of Morris.
