Well...after a long flight, I am back from my black bear hunt in Alberta, Canada with Alberta Backwoods Outfitters.
We had a great time and an even better hunt. We had 6 hunters in camp and 12 tags total. We killed 7 bears and passed up many along the way. Once everyone filled their first tag, most started trophy hunting, or we could have easily tagged out during the week long hunt.
It was a great trip and would recommend it to anyone looking for an exciting adventure. We stayed in tents out in the bush...roughed it for the most part for 8 days.
There will be another group of guys going up next year with some openings for interested hunters.
Here is a pic of the snow cap mountains just south of Calgary on our way up. We connected a flight in Calgary before moving onto Fort McMurray.
I smoked this boar on Tuesday evening. 12 yard shot and 15 yard recovery. I whacked him with the new Rage Chisel Tip - 100 gr. 2 blade. The Rage held up great and absolutely tore him up.
Pic of him at camp where the outfitters prep all bears for the hero shots the next morning.
Here are a few pics of camp...

We dont know the story behind this, but the one bear was tagged with a "do not eat" tag. LOL
Here is a random pic of my killing machine...just hanging out at camp
You can say what you want about ThermaCELL's, but if we didnt have these with us...we honestly would have not been able to hunt. The misquitos were as big as my thumb.
