they had a count of 144 last night and still had people waiting to check in and turned them away at 10 something last night.
biggest bear was 600 something dressed out
We have a camp in conrad. One of our 8 in camp dropped a 629 pounder yesterday around 1:30. Here's a quick pic. Wont have the good ones up til this weekend.
Check station closing time was 9PM and the hours are published in the hunting digest. Everyone in line at 9PM had their bear checked. The station remained open until 10:30 PM in order to take care those hunters.
Some of the PGC employees at the check station worked 15 hours without a lunch or dinner break yesterday. Then they returned today (Sunday) for another shift.
Sounds like the station hours need adjusting. Maybe they should open later in the mornings and stay open later at night to give hunters time to recover their bears and get them to the stations.
