Video-unexpected visitors while archery hunting

Thought some of you might be interested in seeing this video I shot today while archery hunting on Gamelands.

No critters seen despite a beauty am on Gamelands up until 9am. 10 hens came on the scene at 40 yards calling back and forth. I was videoing them to show my kids later when all of a sudden after a min/two they took off running back onto the posted lands. Hmmmm, strange, wonder why took off, they didn't see me? Then these critters rolled onto the scene.

The bulk of this video was at 5-25 yards depending on which critter, the "tree climbing" footage is at 17 yrds for perspective. I was doing ok w/ the whole ordeal until the one cub came under my stand and stood up on its hindlegs smelling the base of my tree and toying w/ my bow rope!!! Mom who's out of the shot seemed to be getting growingly annoyed w/ her childs behavior and began coming my way so my focus was on momma and my release, not video of the cub, sorry. Needless to say, Pucker Factor was in full effect then but was glad to see they went on their way w/o incident. Incredible experience, but I'd just soon they stay a little further out next time if it's ok w/ everyone.

Nice video, thanks for sharing. Looked to me like Momma and at least one of the cubs picked up your scent and knew something was up about two minutes into the video.

Ain't no such thing as a "couldahad" with the bow"

Re: Video-unexpected visitors while archery hunting

Thanks guys. Yeah Glenn....she def knew something wasn't quite right but u could tell she couldn't quite figure out what was wrong. The whole time I was videoing I had an eye on mom n she was constantly sniffin n swaying her head side to side...she was the one I was most worried about in that situation. I take scent control to max n was neat to b able to get past their noses for that long. I was about 25' up in my climber n my wind was pretty good. She stopped on my boot trail in so coulda been that. Mom seemed to look right thru me half the time......Haha.
