Wednesday at 9:20 I was finally able to kill my first PA bear. 5 of us were hunting together putting on some small drives in venango county and this 132lb sow came running down the hill to me. She hit a tram road and ran it right towards me and at 40 yards she slowed down and turned broadside.
On the first day of the new muzzeloader season I hit a bear about 700 yards from where I got this bear. I was sick about not being able to find it, but I was very confident it was not a fatal hit. To my surprise when I was skinning it I found a healed over wound that matched the angle of my muzzeloader shot and two pieces of my roundball. It was a grazing shot across the chest that didnt hit anything but hide. To get a second chance at this bear makes it all the better
