Low Bear Numbers- Fayette County

Is it me or are the #'s for Fayette County Low compared to past years? I saw 39 total as of today. We were hunting Laurel Caverns and Quebec Run and there was a little bit of shooting but I heard they were all shooting at coyotes. Lots of hunters so I would expect more bear harvested.

i agree that it does seem lower - and was surprised at the lack of shooting.... where i usually hunt in Fayette has no acorns, and the bear disappeared mid-September from cams. back at Saturday am....
Good luck to you.

I hunted Quebec Run in muzzleloader season in October and saw very little bear sign. Other hunters i talked to in the area saw little bear sign as well. Acorn crop low this year from what i saw. I am going to give it another shot next week in different area of Forbes SF.

39 is definitely on the lower end of the harvest totals. There will be a few more killed during the extended season no doubt but I feel it’ll be a less then 50 year.

Acorns aren’t great in lots of 2C yet again this year. If you find food you will find bears still however.
