Whopper PA archery bull

Talked with a buddy of mine up at camp today. He showed me some pics of a really nice bull taken in Zone 14 in the archery season. I can tell you, it was a dandy. Guy shot it with a crossbow and it was rough scored at just over 443 inches. I guess the guy hired Hicks Run Outfitters, but I don't now for sure what day he harvested it. Story I got was that an article about it will be running in an upcoming issue of PA Outdoor News. It will be interesting to see what the final score will be on that one. I don't know the score of the biggest bull taken in PA, but this one has to be close if that score holds. Wish I had a pic of it to post here...

The lucky hunter was Amish, pictures won’t be all over social media, or not as quickly. Bull was an absolute monster!

This fella has taken a true PA monarch...Hopefully he realizes the caliber of bull he has there. Believe it or not this bull is off about 20”-30” from his last year rack so I’m a little skeptical of the initial 443” gross score. He’s most definitely over 400” gross and an incredible bull and an even more incredible archery bull and In 60 days we will know. Congratulations Mr Schaffer!

Also the PA record non typical firearm bull is 442 6/8” net and the PA record typical firearm bull is 388 1/8 net. This bull will no doubt be the new Pa archery non typical record.

X2. I'm skeptical of the 440 myself. Undoubtedly a tremendous animal, but I just don't see 440+ and those initial scores always seem to fall some...we'll see soon enough and the score doesn't really matter on an animal like this.
