3B Extended Season

We're headed up for the Opener of Doe to hunt in the Forksville area.

The last 2 days of the Bear season for 3B are December 6-7, with doe starting December 7.

Never actually hunted bear before, but I know that they're on the property.

Is that area hunted super hard throughout the season? We're not driving, just 3 guys in stands waiting for a deer, or the occasional bear...

Not quite sure what to expect.

I don't think the entire WMU 3B is in the extended season. Make sure to check the boundries.

From the pgc.pa.cov site:

BLACK BEAR (WMUs 1B, 2C, 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, 4A, 4B, 4C, 4D, 4E and 5A): Nov. 30-Dec. 7. Only 1 bear may be taken during the license year.

That must have changed for this year. It used to be a special extended season for parts 3B (something like east of Rt 220 and North of Rt 154). I wasn't always the entire 3B. That's good news for the coming season! Thanks

Yes it is and it's been that way for awhile now.
The Forksville area does not get hunted very hard anymore except for the first day.

I'm not intending to see/shoot a bear, but I know darn well that if I DON'T get a tag, I'm gonna see a massive bear take a nap 15 yards from my stand for an hour.

Since I'm buying a tag, I won't see a bear at all.

You could bet on that!! I always buy a tag so I won't see one.
