Flintlock bear!

Anybody happen to know the guy from NWPA that killed the bear with the flintlock today? Pretty amazing accomplishment!

Wonder if it was "blackpowder". He is in Crawford County and I know he does nearly all his hunting with a flintlock.

I don't think it was BP. He's on the board now and he would have told us about something like that.

Listen, or your tongue will make you deaf.

"When a pine needle falls in the forest, the eagle sees it, the deer hears it, and the bear smells it."
an old First Nations saying

sorry, not me. I wish I could get a chance at one. I have carried a flintlock many times in bear season but never had the chance at one. we still have 2 days left, but I am carrying my old 1885 high wall this year.

Well I have had the pic but didn’t want to steal the guys announcement. I was off a bit and got the story. Guy is from up near Erie, was at camp near Knox. Has shot several bear with a rifle and decided his next would be with a flintlock. Really cool! Actually got it first day of regular season also. Congrats to him!

That's a nice bear and a nice flinter too. Awesome!!

Sadly most of my life has been wasted, but the rest I spent hunting, fishing, and trapping...
