I took my 44mag for a walk this morning. So far, I’ve cut tracks of 5. A single one that ran into posted ground and someone took a single shot it

I also cut tracks of a mama and 3 cubs that I followed for awhile and they turned into the posted ground as well.

How’s everyone else doing?

One Shot...One Kill

12" of snow to trudge through makes it kinda tough here in Pike especially when you are only 5'6" to start with! lol Stepped in some hidden holes and blow downs... made it pretty dangerous. No tracks and zero shots heard.
Be careful!

Out in Schuykill County. Father in law and wife are posted and I am making a huge loop.

Had clear shots at 4 monster bucks and 6 doe. Have not cut a bear or coyote track yet.

7 grouse flushes.

Wife had a nice 8pt pass by as well.

It’s really a beautiful day, I’m walking in a t shirt with an orange vest and stil quite warm.

Just got back from a walk on sgl 211.Cut two yote tracks right away. Saw some deer tracks,no bear tracks in circle I walked.Thought for sure I would maybe hear a shot somewhere in the area, but dead calm..Felt alone in the woods.Thought there would be some gangs near driving.I should have spent the time exploring new areasNo sense in me trying to go through thick cover myself.Walking was alittle bit of a pain due to the snow and those hidden holes.

Also took out my .44 Magnum handgun. Hunted SGL in 3D until 11:30. Parking lots not plowed, open roads too snowy for 2wd truck. Not a diss on PGC for not clearing lots, but wouldn’t hurt to run a plow through lot.

Snow was about mid-calf......making walking a real pain. Cut good number of deer tracks. Heard 2 shots around 9:30.....came across bloody drag mark. Don’t think it was bear as drag depression was kind of light. Maybe coyote. Hope no one popped a deer.

Hopefully come Monday, the snow will have melted down some, making walking easier.

I hunted until around lunch time on a tract of public ground in 4D. I didn't hear any shots and only saw a few other hunters. One big group was putting on some drives, but no shots came from their direction. I saw tons of deer and turkey sign, but no bear sign. Overall, it was a fun day to be in the woods. Good luck to everyone that is still out.
