Dadburn oysters

I made scallops wrapped in bacon on the grill today for dinner and oysters on the half shell for an appetiser. I was opening a particularlly tough oyster and my oyster knife slipped out and I stabbed myself pretty good in the palm of my hand. Had to stop the blood flow before I could finish.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

I will put oysters on the grill and when they start to open go at them with the knife. I ussually wear heavy leather gloves too.

Re: Dadburn oysters

I had the oyster knife in the hand as well . 2 days later a trip to the ER and they freaked over my delay in treatment and ran a course of Ivs. Shellfish can have some harmful bacteria.
