Giant Puffballs

Found these growing near the neighbors barn. They were almost 12 inches across. Gave one to him and I took the other. I'm going slice it and than fry in butter with alittle salt and pepper, good eating!

They are good eating, solid white meat.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

Re: Giant Puffballs

I've found a couple of dozen over the past couple days. Ate some, gave some to a couple folks who don't get out much, and dehydrated the rest.

Yup... you can take them and eat them too. I never have but they smell and apparantly taste like mushrooms
