Mushroom ID help

Are these Shaggy Manes, and if so how should they be cooked?

I just saute'd them in a little olive oil. Very good.

Yes, they are. I've eaten them a couple of times. I'm not particularly fond of them. That's just me though, glad you enjoyed them.

Thanks. I thought the flavor was excellent. Little strange on the texture. I will defiantely eat them again if I find them.

we look forward to these coming up every year.they'll show up for like 2 to 3 days and thats it. i like to get them befor they get too tall and open up. yes the texture is strange but they do taste good.

sauted in butter. awesome! come to think of it, all the mushrooms i find tastes good that way, some having onions and garlic added.

Tough to beat the standard butter, onion, and garlic...... on anything for that mattter...... even ice cream.
