Sang Time!

Well, September 1st not only kicks off dove and goose hunting but ginseng hunting as well!

Found a few today but nothing huge, just a couple of 2 and 3 prong plants.

Re: Sang Time!

How old would these be? I planted some last fall but very few came up. They don't show any sign of having berries on them

The berries or seeds will show up on plants at about 3 or 4 years old depending on how well they grow. Wild plants competing with other plants for nutrients may not be ready to pick untill 8 to 10 years old. If you are growing in a controlled enviroment such as weeding and fertilizing, root growth will be much faster and would get a faster return on your investment but the roots are not worth as much as wild or wild simulated root.

Re: Sang Time!

I'm guessing the 2-pronger in the bottom pic is either 2 or 3 years old. The 3-pronger in the bottom left of the top pic is probably around 5-7 years old.

Rough estimates. But probably pretty close.
