Prickly Pear Cacti

I have about 12 sets of roots from the prickly pear cacti. Already dug. The pears have nice yellow blossoms on them and I have read where you can make jam or jelly out of the pear. They are free to whomever wants to come and get them. I am in Susquehanna County

Re: Prickly Pear Cacti

I'll get a handful crop up in myard every year. Always dig them out and pitch them. Those suckers can be hurtful.

Re: Prickly Pear Cacti

I agree that the small hair like thorns are painful and hard to get out as there are so many. But this spring when I weeded them out there was no thorns on them.
