Fall morel

I found a single morel while archery hunting yesterday in Crawford County. I was just curious if anyone had ever seen one this time of year before.

Re: Fall morel

Sounds like a false morel to me. Way past time for the real thing. Let it go.

Re: Fall morel

It looked like a large half-free morel but it wasn't in the best shape. My brother agreed that it was a morel. I don't believe false morels are common in the fall either. I should have taken a pic but it's a 2 hour drive away now. I guess I was more concerned about finding my brother's deer. Just wondering if anyone had ever seen one this time of year. It was a shock seeing one.
