Seeds

I bought heat mats and planted seeds last saturday afternoon.I checked them on tuesday and 8 already germinated.Today only a container of 6 green peppers have yet to sprout.I'm liking the heat mats so far.I have zucchini,watermelon,6 different tomatoes,3 different green peppers and 2 different cucumbers going already.Question, should I keep the heat mats on now?I'm thinking I should to keep the soil warm.Room temp is 72 where the plants are.

Bob Seger,till it shines.

Peppers are very slow to sprout and to grow to planting size. I take the pepper seeds and wrap them in a moist paper towel. I put them on a plate and set them on top of the fridge in the kitchen for a week. In a week, unwrap and you’ll see 95% of the seed will have a small sprout. I then transplant into a growing tray.

If plants are getting good light ( I use grow lights ), I wouldn’t think you need any heat if the room is 72. Heat may dry out the plants if left on too long.
