Squash bug eggs

Found the little devils on my zuke plant leaves. So far all I can find is to squish them or use soapy water. Any ideas out there??

Re: Squash bug eggs

I squash them.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

Re: Squash bug eggs

Yeah thats the favored way on youtube. I'm looking to spray them with a dish soap and water mixture, just not sure what kind of soap.

Re: Squash bug eggs

I mixed up some palmolive dish soap with some cool water into my sprayer and found the first set of little critters that were crawling near the eggs. A couple squirts and the bugs were dead instantly. According to one web site dish soap/water is ok as long as your soap doesnt use triclosan, which I believe makes the soap antibacterial, and also can harm the plants.

I'll keep an eye on the plants to make sure they are ok, but the bugs died quick!

Re: Squash bug eggs

I use a product that is 70 percent neem oil. It seems to help my garden when others suffer. I also murder them when I see them crawling around.
