Cherries!!!

Wild cherries are amazing this year. We have never had any worth picking before, but they are nice now. We can only reach one tree that hangs over our driveway and it took a ladder and some rope for pulling down branches. We ended up with about a half gallon.

I have one over my driveway too and this is the first year I figured it out. Mine must be different though because they were wayy smaller. But honestly the best cherries I've ever had.

They look a lot bigger in the picture. They are only about a half inch or so.

Soak them in water 1st and see if you get little white worms that come out.

I'm not that worried about worms. Its just part of foraging.

Mulberrys are my favorite fruit and they're extra plentiful this year too!

So, the cherries were in the fridge almost a week. A few worms showed up, but not a concern. They should dissolve into the 100 proof vodka I am using to make cherry liqueur. I also added two cups of sugar.
