Growing Butternut squash

Does anyone grow butternut squash, if so from store bought seeds or from seeds from fruit from prior years?

Re: Growing Butternut squash

I had some plants grow from a rotten squash I missed in my jungle of a garden last year.

Re: Growing Butternut squash

I grow acres of squash and I use seed from prior years with some new seed mixed in. Careful what is near by if saving the seed. I planted them too close to a pumpkin patch one year and the seed had to be replaced. The fruit was very large, to large for most markets, and some looked like long neck pumpkins. Waugh!

AR is only a pacifier. You will never grow if it's not in your genes.
