Nikon D7100 DX HD-SLR

I need some advice from you Nikon shooters.
I just ordered this camera and wanted to get a wildlife lens, I like my Canon 100-400 IS zoom and wanted to get something along that line.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Best to y'all,

Griz

Griz, Google - Nikon 1200 Superlens. (you may need a golf cart to haul this) My buddy uses a 300mm f/1.4, the front glass is about 5 inches or over 100mm across (I think that is the correct f stop, seems to be extreme, I have not checked into it.) He was doing some shooting with it in China, great looking stuff.

Just bought the Nikon 80-400 4.5/5.6 Af-d Vr on advice from a wildlife Pro Photographer friend who shoots only Nikon. According to him it's worth every cent you pay for it.

Griz, what caused the jump from Canon to Nikon?

I have always shot both in film and when I saw the reviews on the new D7100 I thought why not and ordered one.
The word is Nikon brought it out to compete with the Canon 7D so if it is half as good as my 7D I'll be happy with it.

That will be a great lens

The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Took the new gear for a test run Sunday morning. Think I'm going to like this one.
