Elk in Benezette

Thinking of making the trip tomorrow weather permitting . Anyone have any information from there ? To early maybe ? Thanks in advance !

I was there Saturday of labor day weekend. They were bugling behind the visitor center. I have pics. posted in the elk hunting forum. It is awesome!! They are also posted in this forum, titled elk country.

Forecast for next weekend is fall-like. I am headed up then.

Just got home from there. I live close by and went to Benezette Hotel for dinner then to look for Elk. Activity was slow until 6:30 when they started moving out closer to the roads. Then there was some great photo opportunities. One big Bull rounding up a couple very young cows. Found a couple more off the beaten path eating under apple trees. One bull was knocking the apples off the tree with his antlers just eating under the tree. Next couple weeks will definatly be getting good. Finding them in the middle of the day requires a little traveling or good lense which I know you have but there is nothing like being up close.

Think before you share your thoughts!!!
