Getting a little better....

CC is greatly appreciated!

Started messing with my flash now. I have had it for 2 years and I now know what it looks like. Over the past few nights I have been getting better with it but I have a ways to go.

I don't know if I have more than one hummingbird because it always looks the same... but it is a regular, visiting every 10-15 minutes.

Re: Getting a little better....

My sister has something like 18 coming to her 2 feeders. And they're not shy. I need to stop by in the daytime to try and get some in-flight pics. I have tried before but it was in the evening and not enough light to stop their wings. Tough buggers to get of pic of too. Don't stay still, while in flight, long.

At her place I have held the feeder and stood still and they would come in and feed, sit on my fingers, come close enough to feel the wind off their wings. Pretty neat experience.

WOW!!! I knw there are at least 2 here since I have seen the one chase the other. They are getting less shy. I can now get with 10-15' of them without them moving.

No doubt flash can be tricky but well worth it. Keep at it Steve

I haven't really done much post work on these yet. I am working on learning what to do to get the best images before I do that. I am getting there. I hate the feeder look so I am now just photographing them on a butterfly bush. Here are 2 of my latest.
