These pictures were taken 43 years ago at the real Ross Leffler School of Conservation. One of the officers brought this bear to the training school in a culvert trap to show us how they removed a tooth, tattooed the inside of a lip and tagged the nuisance bears. Before he was put back in the trap some of the guys wanted some better pictures and asked me to hold up the head. The bear was over 300 lb and that head was heavy so I straddled the bear after these pics were taken to get the head up higher. While I was straddling the bear the tranquilizer started to wear off and the bear started to stand up. Fortunately they didn't get any pictures of my dismount, but I assure you it was probably the world record in bear dismounting a bear. The picture was taken 43 years ago, I don't know where that young guy got too.
