Crazy Idea

I was reading goose2duck's post about spending the day with diver-down and I was thinking back to how much fun I had with Mark and Steve when we got together...and I thought to myself...self, we should have a huntingpa outdoor photography get together day somewhere. Meet somewhere that would provide some neat photography and talk shop. Now I would have absolutely nothing to add to the picture taking since I am still pointing and clicking so to speak, but I could ID birds and would love to watch all you experts take pictures and such.

Just thought, anyone interested?

Catch-and-Release wild trout.

Re: Crazy Idea

Sounds like a great Idea! I would be into that, and I don't mind driving a hour or two either! Maybe something we could do once a Month or once every other Month.

Conowingo Dam would be a great Idea in about a Month or two.

Re: Crazy Idea

I'm game, sounds like a good time. The only problem I see is getting everyone together on a certain day, especially with hunting season coming up, but we can sure try.

Conowingo Dam is a good idea.

Sounds good I'm sure skeller would be into it as well.

I'm happy even if I'm shooting my Camera just as fun.

I'm going feel like a outsider if you skeller goose2duck and a few other Canon shooters tag along. I'll have to get more Darksiders to join in...

Re: Crazy Idea

I'll add one to the Canon side if the time works out for me.

Re: Crazy Idea

Sounds great to me. Conowingo would be a great place too. Eagles are there thick in mid November? Other ideas are middle creek and Bombay hook. For farther away locations we could carpool. What could we do before November.... Maybe a DD waterfall trip. That would be cool. Also a hawk mt raptor and fall color trip could be in October.

Re: Crazy Idea

October ,November , December . A lot also depends on water flow which cranks up the food chain . Also if we have a lot of high water in september that can be a bad thing as a lot of fish in the Conowingo pool can be pushed out into the bay and thats where Eagles go . Its all about food ! Regardless , there will be Eagles. As to lens and camera body I use the Canon Mark 2n because of its great focusing and Lens is Canon 400 5.6 which is super fast focusing , small ,hand holdable and very sharp. Just my style for action shots although some people prefer longer lens and tripod .Nothing wrong with that but when actions fast and right in your face I dont like a big cumbersome lens and tripod .Again I stress its a matter of preference , Ive gone both ways

Re: Crazy Idea

I just picked that lens up a few weeks back and have just started using it. I can't wait to try it on BIF.
