Good stuff! I wonder how common otters are in PA.

I've heard that they are at various places, but I've only ever seen one.

It was along a stream that flows into Pine Creek.

They are very common not that they have been reintroduced, they were low in numbers and in very limited areas prior to that. They went to totally protected to having a season. We have had otters in both Your and Lancaster counties and not were introduced here. Otters are a real success story.

They are common in the central Susquehanna Valley.
This pass season, I was heading home after checking Fox & Coyote traps when I spotted this River Otter in a friend's pond.
I walked down behind some cattyninetails and Otter came over to me. It seemed as curious of me as I was of it.
Otter would swim into cattyninetails then come out into open water, turn on it's back and chatter at me. It did these several times. It's curiosity filled, Otter returned to center of pond to hunt. I watched it dive a few times then surfaced with a large Sunfish. Swam to bank and ate it. I left and Otter was still hunting.
