Mama grouse

must have a nest nearby, cause she didn't want to fly far.

wow, It doesn't look like she's in very 'grousy' cover. Lets hope for her success!

Last May while trout fishing I was walking out on an access road on SGLs when I heard some noise on a bank to my left. I saw a grouse I figured was starting to flush. Instead of flying, she ran right down the bank and charged me, flapping her wings and making a real nasty hissing noise. I tried to keep her away with my rod tip but she ended up chasing me about 20 to 30 yards down the road. I had to look pretty ridiculous running from a grouse, but I didn't need another hole in my waders. Maybe I should get a spot on one of those TV shows about people that survived wild animal attacks, lol.
