Misc tweety birds

I met up with my new friend Jason (grousedog20)for a tweety bird hike. While Jason wasn't pleased with what we saw I really enjoyed the hike. I saw many birds that I either haven't seen or noticed before. Jason is a wealth of knowledge on birds and it was cool doing a hike like that with someone so knowledgable. While I didn't get any great photos I did get a few OK ones and what made it more cool is I got photos of birds I have never seen before. We were in a fairly thick area with minimal sunlight. I know that is no excuse but it is new to me and I am learning.

Please CC these and help me pick any that are worth posting.

American Redstart

Chestnut-sided Warbler

No-idea bird

The first one looks like a Rufous Sided Towhee. Here is a link for the Redstart: http://sdakotabirds.com/species_phot...redstart_4.htm

Eastern Towhee on that first one Steve. Redstart's are real small, the size of that Warbler.

Forget about ISO 400 when the birds are in the shade. Crank that thing up to 1600-3200 especially with that non IS lens. You need allot more shutter speed to handhold that thing, or use flash.

Not sure about the last one, maybe Eastern Phoebe ?

Re: Misc tweety birds

Yeah first one is a male Eastern Towhee...I missed that on the e-mail you sent, my bad!

The last one is a Blue-headed Vireo...a canopy dweller and we were lucky to get this one as close as we did!!

Catch-and-Release wild trout.

Re: Misc tweety birds

Too bad that bear didn't stop on the road for us...He was a lot closer than some of the birds were!
