Looking for a waterproof/shock proof camera...

Any suggestions? I want something that is good quality, that will take good pictures. What do you suggest and what is the price range?

I think your asking for a lot. I'm sure there are some out there waterproof you might have to buy a housing for it to be waterproof. Shock proof, that might be hard to find.

Any camera will take good pictures it the person who press the shutter that makes it good.

Hoyt, there is a guy that post pics of the fish he catches with the camera submerged. If you look through some of the fishing posts you'l probably find and can pm him.
His pics look good.

Hoyt,
I have a Pentax W90 (see link) I think I paid $220. I've not taken underwater pics yet, but do like the camera.

PM Eyefromthesky. I've seen posts that included pics he's made with a Canon (I think). Underwater fish pics that were very nice.

I use a Fujifilm FinePix XP10 for my underwater shots. As far as landscapes and such I wouldn't say it's the best choice out there.

I have an olympus stylus 1030sw. It is a simple point and shoot 10.1 megapixel camera. It works well and we use the floating leash strap for it when we kayak.

Re: Looking for a waterproof/shock proof camera...

It takes Ok pics, but is waterproof and somewhat shock-proof per some of the reviews I read and watched. But my girlfriend got me a Kodak Sport Camera last year. I think it cost less than $150.00 (and is sold at Target and Walmart I believe), but can be used to take underwater pics, and I watched a couple of video reviews where the guy threw the camera around a little bit and it still worked. It also takes HD Videos, which is also why I wanted it. I made a little mount to hook it to my treestand and plan on trying to do a few self-made videos this year in archery.
