A few OK photos from this weekend

Well the lighting stank but I had to take a new lens out for a trial run. None of these are great but One is a first for me.

Never photographed (or remember ever seeing) a COmmon Yellowthroat.

This is just a Red-winged blackbird but I like the photo for some reason.

And last... I believe this is a just a Song Sparrow but I liked the way the orange flowers shade the background. I also never take photos of them so it is actually my only sparrow photo.

Very nice compositions and the lens has blurred the backgrounds into nicely diffused colors. It makes the birds really stand out! Great Job!

Re: A few OK photos from this weekend

The Common Yellowthroat is the bird that got me into bird watching. When I first saw one I thought I had found a rare bird since I had never seen one before (I actually thought i already knew a lot about PA birds), I was appalled when I found out it was one of the most common warblers in PA. that was when I decided to see what other birds I could find that I was not aware of...my wife probably wishes I never saw that bird!

Now I see them all the time and I will rarely even go looking for one when I hear them calling.

Catch-and-Release wild trout.

Re: A few OK photos from this weekend

What happen to getting the 500 f4?? Well at least you can use the 1.4 TC with that lens right? Did you get a TC as well?

Why another 400?? I thought your 1000-400 is a 5.6??

Re: A few OK photos from this weekend

The 500 won't be out till December at the earliest. I wanted a prime to compare an learn on prior to the 500. The prime seems to be a little faster and crisp.
