Birds, Bees, Reptiles, Darning Needle

Spent a day off at my property and took some photos playing around with macro lens and long zoom.

I keep bees and two weeks ago I caught a swarm and put it into a hive. I checked it today and noticed that bees were coming and going from the back side and underneath of the hive. I took the hive apart and found no evidence of the queen in the hive and the bees were making a very strange buzzing sound. When I got to the bottom of the hive I found that the queen must not have gone into the hive originally and took up residence underneath the hive where many bees had started to create their own home and the queen was laying her eggs.

I had to knock them off of their new home into the hive box. Hopefully they will take to their new digs.

Took this in the field before mowing. Don't know what kind of bees these are. They are not honey bees for sure.

Redwing Blackbirds seem to be more friendly this year.

And what is a day at the pond without a painted turtle?

A government that doesn't trust it's law abidding citizens to bear arms is unworthy of trust itself.

stonewall, those are not bees at all, they are hover flies, they look like bees but are a fly, not a bee.
