Early Elk Trip

Overnight visit to Elk County. Saw approx. 40 cows, calves & spikes at one location. 5 branched bulls and a black bear with 2 cubs at another location. Heard bugling 4-5 times. between Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

Great Pics! The tree in the bear pic is a little creepy looking.

Peak is typically late September but you may see activity from now through October. Like deer rut, may see it- may not. Friend saw a 6x6 herding cows, bugling & lip curling Saturday morning. That bull has a long wait for one to be ready, lol.
