Cameras are all pretty good now a days. More dependent on the lens quality and getting off the automatic modes for better then average photos.

Re: New camera for beginner looking at Nikon 3300

Pa Teeny, I bought the Nikon D3300 about a month ago. It is a nice camera and is more than I need as a beginner myself in the dslr world. I read tons of reviews between the 3300 and all the other name brands in the same category. The 3300 seemed to be the best for the money and performance I was looking for.
I purchased from the web at www.beachcamera.com I went with a package deal with the standard lens and a second zoom capable lens with vibration reduction. It also came with a sd card, bag, filters, and so on. My price was around $650 but I felt I needed a zoom lens for kids sports and wildlife. Good luck in your search. There's SO much info out there on the camera
