Best of 2014

I did this post last year too, and now that 2014 is officially over, let's see your best shot(s) from 2014. Last year I asked for just one picture, your best of 2013...some people said it was to hard to pick just one. So this year you can post more than one if you want to.

So what are your best shots of 2014 and why...I still need to think about mine. Any photographic New Years resolutions?

Re: Best of 2014

OK, here are my favorites from 2014:

This might be my favorite just based on subject matter and context. My son helping me do a little scouting on the farm:

This is one of my favorite locations on Earth, so to capture this wonderful sunrise and enjoy a great day of fishing was pretty cool:

My last favorite is this one I took on an early spring pheasant hunt with my brother and father...I just love the energy and joy in the dog...plus a day hunting with family is always memorable:

Re: Best of 2014

One of my favorites taken in Feb. 2014 of small town and valley where I live. Like the snow and mountains in the background.

Signs of fall moving in on summer taken one evening from archery stand.

Piebald fawn near where I live. Wish I had it focused a little better.

Photo of some jakes taken while hunting spring longbeards.

Re: Best of 2014

I am not nearly as gifted as grousedog20 when it comes to capturing my hunts or surroundings with a still camera. I leave that up to him when we are together since he is so good at it! I am usually the one carrying a video camera. But I do occasionally use my iPhone to capture a few images.

I am guilty of taking at least one hunting selfie a sit. I just like the way I look in camo!

I took this one just a few minutes after arrowing my doe on the second Saturday of the archery season. I wanted to capture my emotions and I was surprised and pleased with the resulting image

This one is from the first day of the bear season. It was cold and clear and with a little editing, I think it turned out pretty cool.

My final photo addiction while hunting is capturing a panoramic view from my treestand

And sometimes I get a chance to catch the master at work (Notice the fawn to the left of the frame)

Re: Best of 2014

Yep, tough to pick just one. I just wish I got out more then I did in the past year. Planning on changing that this year.

Going to start with a nice warm photo from last March. Could stand to be here about now. Turks & Caicos Islands.

Later in the spring a Purple Gallinule showed up very near to my house. It caused quite a stir with the birding community as it was unusual to see this bird this far north.

About the same time a pair of Orioles built a nest above my front door. I was able to get some photos from the back half of my roof, lol.

Lastly, while standing on the beach, camera in hand set up to shoot the Air Force Thunderbirds, this Osprey came cruising by with a bunker in its' hooks.
