And now Sigma...

http://sigma-rumors.com/2014/09/sigm...ional-details/

If I was a betting man I would put money on this being a better lens than the Tamron.

Re: And now Sigma...

At approximately double the price it better be. Will be interesting to see how much better.

Also 2 lbs. heavier then the Tamron, which is no light weight.

Re: And now Sigma...

There are other rumors that have it around $1500. Only time will tell. Sigma has been doing some good things with their new lenses, I would expect the same from this one. The old 150-500 has been discontinued from what I hear.

Re: And now Sigma...

I think it would sell a whole lot better if they could keep it closer to $1500 and if it's a good performer, which I don't doubt it will be. I just wish it wasn't so heavy, if it was 5.6 at 600mm and sharp wide open the extra weight might be more justified. Either way it's good to see more options available then Canon's new overpriced telephotos. Hopefully one day Canon will figure out how to make something affordable over 400mm.

Re: And now Sigma...

Looks like Sigma is going all-out in this focal range. Not one, but two new lenses.

Very cool! Curious to see the prices of both models

Not only is my short-term memory horrible, but so is my short-term memory.

Re: And now Sigma...

Another one, that's bizarre. They sure aren't leaving any gaps in the market. Can't wait to see where these fall in price and IQ wise. It's just odd they don't know the weight of the Contemporary model yet.

Photokina is next week, I wonder if Canon has anything exciting to bring to the plate ? 7DII ? 100-400 II ??
