A story and an antique captured

A few days ago as dawn was breaking I decided to take a ride over toward my neighbors pasture in a search for fawns. Well as I crested the hill near his place what I heard made me think I was hearing things. The repeated cackle of a rooster pheasant. I heard it but could not yet see him due to a mist across the meadow. Finally he stepped out into a a soft ray of sunlight and to me it was like being a kid again back in the fifties on our farm.
The shooting was tough as the bird weaved slowly in and out of the shadows but here are a few of the results.

The first photo is as he made his initial appearance

That bird looks like it was debeaked so it is probably a left over stocked bird from last season.

Re: A story and an antique captured

Great photos!

Where I live in Snyder County we have had pheasants around our house for the past few years. It was nothing to sit on my buddy's porch (lives just down the road from me) and see 3 or more roosters chasing hens around. For several months I had a rooster that would come to the corner of my house almost daily at dawn and cackle. It was the corner of the house where our master bedroom is located, so needless to say the wife was less than thrilled with his daily routine. A new house build and right-of-way cutting by the power company later... I only occasionally see a rooster or hen now. It's a shame when perfect habitat has to be ruined for the sake of nothing being under the power lines.

Re: A story and an antique captured

Need some input here guys.

The first print "Out of the Morning Mist" is one I am thinking about having made into prints in size 10x14 for my show in September. Charge for the print ready to frame printed on acid free paper and shrink wrapped and mounted on backing would be $25.00 Inc tax cash and carry. Print will also be signed and numbered.
What do you think?
Think it would have a market and is that price reasonable.

Thanks,

Griz
