Osprey study

Got these shots right after sunrise yesterday.

This guy was looking for breakfast back in a remote foggy lagoon.





That new lens blew my mind...you can even see the rising sun in his eye.

I haven't seen them up here in north central PA yet. Cowanesque Lake has quite a few nesting platforms that they use. However, I have found where a pair of bald eagles are nesting. I've seen them both out of the nest at the same time so I'm assuming they don't have an egg.

Driving by the Cow everyday this week, I've noticed the osprey's moving in. Got 2 pair building nests on the nests platforms I can see from SR 49. Definitely signs of spring.
