They aren't American Chestnut so the blight isn't a problem with them.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

They are not immune to the fungus but they are much more resistant to it than pure Americans

Dunstan's are chinese, the blight does not effect them. Hold out for the resistant American's though. Slower growing but it is what is suppose to be here.

I have a couple in my yard that will disagree that blight doesn't effect them. Most of the commercially available "dunstans" that are available today are open air pollinated, so you have an unknown mix of chinese and american genetics, which makes them somewhat inconsistent. There's a great Facebook group called "All about chestnuts", where this discuss this pretty in depth, by some really well know names in chestnuts. Folks there agree that they're fine for wildlife, but there are better choices out there, although they're harder to get than hitting up your local Walmart.

There is a named cultivar of Dunstan called "Revival", which is a better tree from what I read.

They also originated in Florida so they may not be hardy in the Pa winters

You can check walmart stock and prices, at Brickseek. Anyone have a UPC from a receipt to share? It's usually reliable, but not 100% accurate.
