Has anyone else noticed white oaks leaves turning brown?

My house is surrounded by big white oaks. The last several days Iíve noticed a rust coloring on the leaves of every tree. Tonight the wife and I went out to to Moraine State Park for a picnic. Looking across Lake Arthur I could see the same staining on white oaks there. Iím wondering if itís some kind of mold or mildew brought on by too much rain. Doesnít appear to be insect related.

You nailed it. Oak Athracnose. I suspected it might have something to do with the excess rain this year.

Oaks are not the only trees showing signs of stress, the Box Elders are as well.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

I was out in the Sproul SF this week. I noticed that many trees were loosing leaves, they were all still green however. Traveling on some dirt roads you would encounter places where the road was covered.with green leaves...mainly maples.
