Raspberries/Blackberries: Inscect boring problems

Has anyone experienced any problems with insects boring intoblackberry or raspberry canes (thus killing the berries) and had successcombating this? After finding some hollowed out canes and wilted leaves andberry bunches last year I bought some borer treatment and drenched the groundwith it before the growth started on the year old canes. However, I didnít cutthe canes all the way to the ground. Iím now having the same problem, somecanes are getting destroyed before the berries can ripen. Anyone have anysuggestions on combatting this? Thank you.
