Bluebird box baffle

I want to put up about 4 Bluebird boxes up in food plots at camp. I have some 4" thin walled PVC pipe. I was going to cut them to length & slip over post. I was going to put a cap on top & drill a hole big enough to slip over pipe till I saw how expensive they where. Looking for ideas for baffle to fit on a T- post. To protect the nesting box from varments

55 gal drum lid, find balance center and put hole for post, put a long bolt thru the post with a nut on each side to center, drum lid sits loosely/wobbly on top of the bolt.

I make fishing rods and when I order blanks they are shipped in 1.5" PVC with Blue caps. I just use the PVC and duct tape the blue caps after cutting an "X" into the top. I also use 1/2" metal conduit to secure my Bluebird box to and the slide the PVC over the conduit.
