Frost Seeding

I've been reading up on frost seeding over the past couple of years and decided this year I'll give it a go around my cabin and it's logging road. I'm heading up this weekend. What everyone's opinion on trying this Sunday - am I to early? My cabin is in Tioga county. I'm looking at low's over the next 10 days down below 20 and highs above 50.

I've read end of Feb to mind March is maybe a more ideal time, but I'm not sure I will get up again until the end of march.

Maybe throw half of the seed down this go around, and the second half the end of March/early April.

Any opinions?

Don't Tread On Me is what it says and I'll take that to my grave.

If you are worried about not being up again until after the weather is calling for freeze/thaw cycles, I would go ahead and seed now. We usually aim for early to mid-March for our frost seedings, but this winter has been a bit of a curve ball with the temperatures.

The clover seed will wait in the soil for the right temp for germination later this spring...so if you have freeze/thaw cycles now to work the seed into the soil, you should be good. Good luck!
