My chesnut trees

I got 12 trees from Spur on Memorial day weekend. Planted them in my field on that Sunday.
My son & I drove up today to see how they are doing. Not knowing the weather the last 3 weeks & heard it rained a lot, I wasn't sure what to expect. Me being me, expected the worst.
Well to my surprise they are doing great. All have new growth & grew between 4 & 8 inches in the 3 weeks. Pretty amazing.
Hope they keep doing well.
Also got 2 apple trees from Spur. They are also doing well.
{'ll post pics as soon as I figure out how to do that.

Re: My chesnut trees

Im not surprised. Our garden is growing like crazy even with all this rain. Its the moisture and the heat that has the plants growing well

Re: My chesnut trees

This is the smallest tree. It was about 4" w/2 leaves on memorial day. It's close to 10" w/ several more leaves.
The second tree was bigger to start and is now about 16 inches tall.

Re: My chesnut trees

I am enjoying about picking up advice on Chestnut tree

planting and care...Question: I have 7 chestnut trees planted.{3 Chinese and 4 Dunstan} All about 6' now...last year the "seed stems" were knocked out by late frost, this year growing very well, notice some leaves are being chewed on,Is there a repellent solution for this?

It is my hope that I get chestnuts and and grow them this winter,..thanks to the information being shared in Habitat Forum this new hobby looks like an excellent way to give back to wildlife and the future hunter.
