Contest question

I see that the State Open Final is in Bloomsburg on the 29th of this month but that State Friction is still in Claysburg? Don, am I reading this correctly? Just wondering, it seems to be hard to find much in depth info without emailing someone.

Re: Contest question

Yes I believe you are correct. I have lost track of who owns the state championship contests, air and friction. I do not believe there is a state natural voice championship contest, wish there was.

I do not know who is responsible or who runs either state championship contest, except for the information posted on NWTF web site under Turkey Calling Contests schedule and contact information. Call the two contact people listed for Bloomsburg and Claysburg, they should be able to give you the information for their contests.

When the state contests were in Chambersburg quite awhile ago I judged the states. I have not judged states since. When PA Chapter NWTF ran the Master's Turkey Calling Contest I judged the Master's many times until the event stopped drawing contestants.

The ESOS Turkey Calling Contests are Sunday, February 6th, and the US Open Finals are at the ESOS on the last weekend of the show, February 12th and 13th. Both are NWTF sanctioned turkey calling contests and winners qualify for NWTF Grand Nationals at the Convention the following February.

I ran the ESOS Turkey Calling Contests for 25 years and judged many times. While not a state chanpionship contest the quality and professionalism of the callers are exceptional and with top notch calling in anybody's book. I believe we ran an great calling contest for the callers.

Re: Contest question

Hey thanks for the info Don. I'll definitely be headed for Claysburg, not sure about ESOS or Bloomsburg yet.
