Shake & Bake Chicken Mushrooms

Shake and Bake Chicken of the Woods - by Jim Monko

I have had outstanding results using the commercial product Shake & Bake for my Chicken of the Woods mushroom finds. Neat thing is that there are many flavors of S & B out there now Ė even flavors for pork chops, fish, and some of the chicken flavors other than the original, like Southwestern Flavor, etc. You do the chicken mushroom just like the recipe on the box, except you don't bake them for that period of time since itís not real meat. Basically, you wet the pieces of Chicken of the Woods, place it in the S & B bag with the mixture, shake it, place on the cookie sheet and bake it. I place it on an aluminum foil cookie sheet for my baking. It might take only like 10 minutes in the oven if you use the temperature on the S & B box. Itís a quick way to use your Chicken Mushrooms and it tastes good!!!

Try the other brand called Oven Fry.
Ya need to use an egg but flavor is better and more crispier.

I've always dipped Chicken of the Woods in egg and flour then pan fry but this sounds so much easier. Gonna give it try soon as the mushrooms pop out again.
