Had some last week of archery success. 30yd shot from my Mathews LX with grim reaper broad heads. Afternoon hunt, didn't even get all the way up my tree and had this guy coming straight at me, 40 yes away. Still had my pack on, bow laying on the ground and my feet were still strapped into my climber. Was able to slowly pull the bow up, knock an arrow and free one of my feet from the bungee strap of my stand, turn, draw and shoot. Amazing, that he never knew I was there. Didn't get the penetration I wanted, but still connected. Luckily my bro in law was there to talk me through everything after the shot, and we were able to recover this bruiser. That is my doe hanging next to me that I had shot the day before. Excellent last week! Now to get a buck in front of my son and stepson. They both had success when we hunted the early youth doe season. Awesome year so far!!!
