First ever buck with a bow, been archery hunting for about 10 years shot many of doe just never had a good shot at a big enough buck until this one.
First evening hunting 2 hours in, the does just started moving smaller bucks were checking (not chasing) does. Looks like the big boys were watching. Shortly after the does came into the field and the smaller bucks were making their rounds this nice 10 came into the field to check out my buck decoy, he was at 40 yards, I can shot confidently out to 50 (I archery hunt Elk so I need to be able to shoot to 60) but I wasn't taking any chances on this buck. He finally circled down wind of the decoy to 30 yds and I let it fly. He was quartering to so the exit wound looks farther back but he only went 50 yds hitting lungs and liver. Not 2 minutes after I shot him a real nice 8 came out with a kicker off his left g2 and starting another on his right g2, hoping he survives until next year very nice mass already. There were 2 other potential shooters throughout the field that night as well.
