first big buck

This was my first big buck, I have had a lot of close encounters and I am still learn all the tricks of the deer. The dear gods helped me out because I got a decent 8pt.

I am a jr in high school so I had to race down to the stand and get there early because the rut and because the deer come early where the tree-stand is, so I rush into the woods and it was my first day hunting the stand because I moved it from a different spot and seen a lot of sign and always saw deer go over there. It was Monday October 27 after missing a 11 pt at 15 yards in the previous days and not being able to get shots on other bucks,I seen this big body deer chasing a doe the doe ran off and buck came in to eat the acorns that were falling from the tree. It took him a couple minutes but finally i got a alley. I drew back perfectly, he didn't hear or expect anything put it right behind the shoulder like i was taught, then slowly pulled the trigger on the release. the arrow went behind the shoulder and the deer ran off the arrow never went all the way threw tho. i seen it sticking out but most of the arrow was still in him.my dad hunts 75 yards from me and he seen the deer and were it went so, we got down and looked for blood couldn't find any but we both saw the arrow. good thing he watched the deer and where it went because he saw the deer going into the thick stuff. so we looked that night couldn't find anything so i came back the next day trying to be positive but i knew there was a very slim chance i would find him. well i went on a line like my dad went and said were the deer was and found a thick patch where you could only see 10 ft in front but lucky me i seen him laying down. at first i didnt think it was my deer becuase it was big so i was like [censored]. i was so happy i hate when you shoot a deer and it goes to waste. so what happened was i hunt with the rage that expand. the angle i was on it went right threw his stomach and all the guts and stuff where hanging out and no blood could get threw so it was hard to find. but thank the deer gods!! and thanks for my dad help me drag it like 50 yards because the deer nearly ran right back to the truck but thats my story hope you like the pics.
