Success in Maryland
After a tough couple of days at Potter County deer camp(we had a stomach bug work it's way thru deer camp this year, myself and about 5 other guys were sick) I
headed to the lease in Md Friday afternoon. It has been a tough year there, all of the buck activity is happening at night. I picked a stand I have not hunted yet this year, it's a tall ladderstand that gives you a nice view of the thick brushy creek bottom and also the cut bean field. It was a tough hunt, winds were whipping out of the west. Around 430 I saw tines across the creek bottom. I put the scope on him and waited for him to get into a opening, took the shot at 65 yards. He ran off but did not make it out of that bottom. He was about 200 pounds on the hoof with a big thick neck. He would have been a 8 point, but was missing a tine.
